Stardust and Knitting

Stitches West was, as usual, an amazing event. So much energy and great inspiration coming from the knitters and vendors alike.  A true festival of knitting.

A highlight this year was the presence of Ali MacGraw  who was promoting Ali's Cap, a knitting kit for the charming hat she made famous in the movie Love Story. The pattern comes from the needles of the incomparable British designer, Marion Foale, and the kit includes a skein of Marion Foale 3-ply wool along with the pattern (mine is now signed by Ali!) and a beautiful sea turtle button. All is to benefit WERF, the Wildlife Emergency Response Fund, one of Ali's favorite causes.  Just $20 and worth every stitch.   Contact sponsors Tutto in Santa Fe and RYN Yarns in Milwaukee for information.

As gracious as she is beautiful, Ali  kindly agreed to let me have a picture taken with her. She's wearing one of my new jacket designs, Collared Shortly.   Nothing like some stardust, eh?
